A place where a Star Wars, Harry Potter, Tennis Shoe, Case Closed, Megatokyo and Smallvile fan (that's me!) posts mostly stories and sometimes random things!
What was you're favorite part? (If you can choose one of course!)
I really liked how Neville was standing up for everyone, that he was rebeling against the evil and keeping up hope. I also liked that we finally found out why the Bloody Baron is bloody! (I love how Jo finally explained that!)
How did everyone feel about the epiloge and the change of the last word?
I didn't mind the change of the last word because it was at least in the last two sentences. my favorite part would have to be when Kreacher became good and was so much help that made me really happy.
When Harry goes to sacrifice himself (the scene where he's walking into the forest, surrounded by his family, his godfather, and Lupin).
When Neville gets the sword out of the hat.
and...
The scene on Platform 9 3/4.
But my FAVORITE scene - probably out of ANY of the books - is Chapter 33 "The Prince's Tale". I was SO excited to get Snape's story! It proved that I'd been right since book one, and Snape really was a good guy -- even though he kind of wasn't. Those are my favorite good guy's anyway (sadly, I know).
Oh, and the Dumbledore thing (I know I've already mentioned this, but I thought I'd elaborate) did not change how I felt about Dumbledore at all. He was doing what he felt was right -- and it turned out to be right. If Harry had died A) It would have been Harry's CHOICE; and B) It would have been to save THOUSANDS+ of others. One death to save thousands ... You know, that sort of thing. And really, I love Dumbledore, so ...
Oh, love the line
"Picturing a young Dumbledore was like picturing a stupid Hermione or a nice blast-ended scroot."
(Not exact quote, and I think I spelled the last word wrong)
You did,but we still love you. ^^; I personaly have always disliked Snape, but thought he was a neccesary part of the plot. But I didn't cry when he died, personaly I was dancing around. But we each have our own opinions, which are GREAT! I did love the book. Hmm,I think I'll go and read it again...
On Harry's death walk, when all his dead loved ones became his ministering angels and told him they were proud of him.
When the portraits of the headmasters gave Harry the credit he deserved.
When Kreacher became a good guy.
When JKR gave the full Snape story.
When Neville ran up to Loony, kissed her, and lived happily ever after together. OK, so the book didnt say that, but I agree with Ginny Romney on that one so I penciled it in on my copy.
RyanAZ, I LOVE that you added that!!! JK never will stop us Luna/Neville shippers!
I can't believe you so dislike Snape, Kairi! I suppose I won't disown you as my cousin, but that just proves that you're really liked. I sobbed when Snape died. Actually, I don't think I did, but that's because so much other things were going on. I was very disappointed with his death -- I had kind of been hoping for something more dramatic, but ah well, I lived through it. I've always love, love, loved Snape, so...
Oh, I'd forgotten about the portraits, but you're right, that was cool! Why didn't Snape have a portrait? Or did she just not mention that?
I guess you'll have to disown me too, Kat?e. I think as far as Snape goes, I agree with Harry. Snape was a brave man and I respect some of his decisions but in the end he was just some guy who couldn't get over a girl. And it was his own fault that he lost her!
I have to agree that the Kreature turning good was one of the highlights. Oh yeah, and I bawled when I found out what Hermione did for her parents! That was so noble of her!
I LOVE to read and write! I've written since FOREVER (or since first grade) and read even longer! I also like to sing and learn how to do new things like cross-stitch and quilts. I also can play the baritone, the instrument I play in band, exceptionally well, if I do say so myself => I can also play the trumpet, valve trombone and the piano. Did I say that am WAY in to music?

Me too! I cried and cried and CRIED!
Oh my gosh! I was hysterical!! Oh my gosh!! I still loved it though! It was great! Jo did it again!
I KNOW! I BAWLED when I found out that Dumbledore had just helped Harry out to eventually let him die! I was devestated!
Should we discuss it or something now?
Oh, I didn't mind the whole Dumbledore thing -- I knew he would turn out a goodguy in the end. He knew what was best, the way he did with Snape.
Ah ... Snape ... <3 <3 <3
It was good. Well obviously it was good but I'm happy with the outcome.

I dunno -- there are SO MANY good ones!
Here are just some:
When Kreacher becomes good.
When Harry digs Dobby's grave.
When Percy returns.
When Harry goes to sacrifice himself (the scene where he's walking into the forest, surrounded by his family, his godfather, and Lupin).
When Neville gets the sword out of the hat.

IMHO, this was hands down the best book of 7.

She mentioned it in one of her interviews.
